Job Description


This position is responsible for contributing to the coordinated efforts of preparing high-quality products for our retail stores. The performance of the duties must align with all Food Safety standards, and ensure a quality service approach to all customers, employees and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Cook/prepare food ensuring items adhere to high quality standard and company recipes and specifications.
  • Ensure that all food is creatively and attractively presented at all times.
  • Train departmental staff in the correct methods for cooking preparation and presentation.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the department.
  • Coordinate department activity ensuring that goals are properly communicated and attained.
  • Practice and promote Company policies (as communicated in meetings, policies and procedure manuals, employee guidebooks, written directives, etc.) and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the accurate receipt of all incoming department products, inspecting the items for freshness and quality, and reconcile products received with packing slips, purchase orders, invoices, etc.
  • Conduct inventory of merchandise and report discrepancies.
  • Communicate weekly the supply and packaging orders necessary for the department to the Assistant Production Manager.
  • Stay apprised of new food trends and technologies and communicate those trends.
  • Ensure compliance of all Government regulations and Health & Safety standards including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) food handling and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Sheet (WHMIS) chemical safety.
  • Safeguard the integrity of the Company’s financial information.
  • Ensure kitchen is kept clean and sanitized by cleaning preparation areas and equipment, washing and organizing dishes and kitchenware, and sweeping and mopping floors.
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires completion of a post secondary program in culinary arts plus a minimum of 1 year of related experience in a culinary/food environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of food costs.
  • Knowledge of methods, material and practices of volume food preparation.
  • Knowledge of sanitary methods and safety procedures in the kitchen.
  • Supervisory or management experience will be considered an asset.
  • Strong team player with clear, effective communication skills.
  • Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
  • Food Safety Certification will be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Work & Sensory Environment:

  • Required to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipment during shift.
  • Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
  • Required to lift, carry and/or handle heavy objects.
  • Required to stand for extended periods of time while performing duties.

Position Summary...

To pick and pack online grocery delivery orders ensuring a high quality standard and accuracy while adhering to strict safety and food hygiene standards to achieve customer satisfaction.

What you'll do...

1. Efficiently picks and assembles orders from various temperature areas with great care and quality in mind to achieve “On Time” delivery to customers.
2. Packs orders with attention to detail including distinguishing between similar named products, exact quantity, correct product codes.

Responsibilities:

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Patient Care, RN, RPN and/or LPN, the Unit Clerk acts as a member of the health care team, performing clerical, receptionist, and related duties as directed. The Unit Clerk demonstrates a commitment to the values, vision, goals, and objectives of the Region/facility/unit.

Experience

  • Previous patient care experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk training program required.
  • Medical terminology required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Information and/or training will be provided within the probation period for the following:
    • Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions).
    • Regional, site and unit policies and procedures.
    • Roles and responsibilities of members of the health care team.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • General administrative and secretarial skills and ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.

About the Opportunity

The MDR Technician performs cleaning and sterilizing duties to meet the needs of the departmental customer; follow policies and procedures of the service and rotate throughout decontamination area, processing area and distribution area. Included in this area will be the make-up and distribution of case carts and other sterile item to both internal and external partners / clients within the health authority. Additional duties maybe assigned by the manager as deemed necessary. These positions include evening, nights and weekend shifts.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • High school graduation or equivalent required
  • Enrolled or willingness to enroll in a recognized medical device reprocessing education program required
  • Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician preferred
  • Medical device reprocessing experience preferred
  • Experience with instrumentation, medical knowledge and terminology, infection control and sterile processing practices, case cart make up, knowledge of pick lists will be required
  • Knowledge of basic infection control and personal safety measures is required
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift trays and other articles of approximately 25lbs in weight, and the ability to move a rolling weight in excess of 50 lbs required
  • Ability to set priorities and organize workload required
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently as required
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers and staff required
  • Ability to hold in confidence all matters pertaining to MDRD, patients and staff is required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
