Job Description


As our National Accounts Representative, you will be Bylands' representative in dealing with national accounts and will be responsible for utilizing technology in maximizing sales opportunities, developing long-term relationships, setting up, and executing all programs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Executing (internally) each client's programs inclusive of item selection, building store distributions, placing orders, timing of shipments to each store and invoicing.
  • Working closely and providing information to production & logistics staff to organize the shipments of programs to mass merchant accounts throughout the shipping season.
  • Monitoring quality of product being shipped to client locations.
  • Collaborating with Sales Manager to develop strategic sales programs and relationships with designated clients to meet annual sales goals for new and existing business.
  • Arranging sales calls, attending meetings and maintaining correspondence with key customer contacts. Be aware of all key contacts within the client organization and changes in the accounts organizational structure.
  • Reporting sales activity regularly, providing feedback on sales and product performance, and key challenges.
  • Learning and understanding the decision making process utilized by these clients and developing appropriate sales schemes.
  • Receiving and processing sales orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Resolving customers’ quality and credit issues in a timely manner.
  • Supporting outside sales staff as an internal support as needed.

The competitive salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000/yr (plus commission).

Qualifications


Education / Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing or Horticulture
  • A minimum of 2 years of territory sales and marketing experience
  • A valid driver’s license

Applications are invited for a full-time permanent Clinical Biochemist position in the head office in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will be located in the Reference Laboratory at 100 International Blvd., but may also have professional responsibilities spanning other provincial testing locations. Responsibilities:
Provide expertise in developing and monitoring quality systems for LifeLabs Ontario Chemistry laboratories.
Maintain high standards of quality through auditing performance in internal and external quality assurance programs, identifying root causes and corrective actions for unacceptable performance.
Provide leadership and advice in implementation of new or revised test guidelines and protocols.
Consult with physicians and other health care providers regarding appropriate selection and interpretation of laboratory tests for their patients.
Support interpretation of selected chemistry tests, including serum and urine protein electrophoresis, calculi, and mass-spectrometry-based tests.
Provide leadership and recommendations on technology selection and support in development of business cases for capital equipment purchases.
Provide leadership in the evaluation, implementation, and support of new technologies, including lab-developed tests.
Act as an internal resource for medical scientific, technologist and support staff.
Collaborate with medical, operational, and regulatory affairs staff to support quality improvement, maintain accreditation standards, and ensure standardization across laboratories where possible.
Work closely with external partners, such as health authorities, to ensure quality of service within the larger provincial health landscape.
Participate in internal and external academic, professional and/or administrative activities, where appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills:
PhD with certification (or eligible for certification) in Clinical Biochemistry from the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry. Candidates with equivalent training and certification will be considered.
Prior experience in a multidisciplinary laboratory is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Common sense approach to problem solving.
Highly analytical and detail oriented.
Leadership skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Experience and skills in clinical informatics would be an asset.
Project management skills and experience would be an asset.

Environment:
The Reference Laboratory in Toronto features state-of-the-art equipment that supports a broad menu of routine and specialized assays. New instrumentation for high-volume chemistry and immunology testing is currently undergoing verification for implementation later this year. The laboratory focuses on high level of automation, including numerous pre-analytical and analytical autoverification tools and automated data analysis and reporting. The clinical mass spectrometry facility is one of the largest in Canada, guided by a team of Laboratory Scientists and Clinical Biochemists, with diverse experience in development, validation, and quality assurance of lab-developed testing.

As a Laboratory Assistant you will be responsible for the specimen collection process, from greeting patients through to preparation of specimens for transportation. This is an important role in patient care and our business, and will let you see the difference that you make in patients’ lives.

This is a Full Time position at Beverly PSC Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm. The successful candidate will be working 37.5 hours per week.

In this role you will:
Greet and request required information from patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, 24 hour blood pressure monitoring, and perform ECG tracings.
Perform special test collections, such as medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials, and complete related documentation.
Maintain client relationships, including responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
Complete data entry of required patient demographics, requisition information, and other information related to processing test results.
Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.

The right person for this role will be focused on great customer/patient service, and be able to relate to patients and clients even in stressful situations. Some key qualities include: empathy, flexibility, adaptability to change, and problem solving skills. Other requirements include:
Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent related experience such as working as a healthcare professional with previous training or experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion and/or intravenous therapy (e.g. nurses, infusion therapist, cardiac technologist etc.).
ECG training or experience is an asset.
Proficient data entry skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
Ability to effectively relate to patients and health care providers.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, the incumbent is to prepare snacks and meals that meet the Child Care Early Years Act, Toronto Public Health and the Canada Food Guide requirements that are consistent with the philosophy of the department. The incumbent must maintain the cleanliness in a manner that meets regulatory requirements and department standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares 3 snacks and cooks one hot meal per day for approximately 56 children ages birth to 6 years and 14 adults.
  • Assesses food needs, purchases and arranges for weekly delivery.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards on a daily basis as required by the department of Health and the Child Care Early Years Act. Ensures that kitchen equipment is functioning properly and reports maintenance as required.
  • Greets parents, students, visitors, delivery and trades people calling at the door, ensuring that visitors are directed to appropriate locations.
  • Plans menus following Canada Food Guide, taking into consideration cost, variety, availability of foods and presentation.
  • Researches and compiles menus, recipes and adapts them to suit a large group of young children and children with allergies and food restrictions.
  • Ensures food supplies are properly stored to avoid contamination and that wastage is minimized.
  • Prepares and delivers snacks to the infant, toddler, pre-school children and kindergarten rooms mornings and afternoons daily.
  • Answers kitchen phone and takes messages.
  • Contributes to daily housekeeping chores such as laundry
  • Works directly with the children assisting with programming daily

Qualifications/Experience

  • 1 year certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Public Health Food Handlers Certification
  • Previous experience in food preparation in a licensed child care centre, institutional setting and/or a commercial kitchen
  • Successful candidates are required to submit a current Police Reference Check and medical documentation as required by the Child Care Early Years Act
  • Progressive working knowledge of nutrition and food allergies.
  • Proven organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity providing service in a multicultural environment

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based at the Detour Lake Mine site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mine Geologist to join our Technical Services team reporting to the Geology Superintendent.

Detour Lake is the second largest gold producing mine in Canada with the largest gold reserves and substantial growth potentialThe open pit mine is located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 300 kilometres northeast of Timmins and 185 kilometres by road northeast of Cochrane, within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt.The mine is situated in the area of the historic Detour Lake open pit/underground mine operated by Placer Dome which produced 1.8 million ounces of gold from 1983 to 1999. The Detour Lake operation has a mine life of approximately 22 years with an average gold production of 659,000 ounces per year.

The Mine Geologist will work in a production geology team to deliver maximum ore grade to the Process Plant through accurate identification and optimal ore classification.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promote a healthy, safe and environmentally compliant working environment;
  • Ensure all ore block mark-ups are completed and checked against the ore block design plans;
  • Ensure the ore design procedure is being correctly followed and all ore-polygon data is being managed correctly;
  • Grade Control block model is being correctly flagged and updated with mineable provisional and final ore-polygons at the end of each month;
  • Ensure that blast holes are being correctly identified and sampled and that NAG/PAG sampling is performed according to procedure in areas identified;
  • Compile and evaluate geological data and report the results to improve ore body modeling, grade estimation, and ore block movement modelling;
  • Clear and timely communication with other geological personnel, engineering team and mine operations team on related geological matters;
  • Provide Engineering with updated drilling plans for inclusion in weekly report;
  • Apply geoscience technical experience as it relates to drilling, sampling, QA/QC, grade control, dilution, cost control, reconciliation, etc.;
  • Compile/ complete geological mapping and interpretations utilizing traditional or digitally-based techniques using Datamine Studio RM, Maptek PointStudio, or other software;
  • Create block models making use of geological, structural and grade information required for resource/reserve estimation;
  • Other duties as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology;
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a production geologist, preferrably in an open pit mine;
  • Registration and in good standing with the APGO or in the process of being registered;
  • Eligible for registration as a Drone pilot;
  • Experience using 3D software, preferably Datamine Studio RM or Maptek Vulcan;
  • Experience with geological modeling and drill core logging;
  • Intermediate skills with MS Office;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset;
  • Proven commitment to health, safety and the environment;
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • Attention to detail.
